What will you do in this class

Frequently Asked Questions

I’m a complete beginner. Can I still join a metalsmithing workshop?

Absolutely! Our workshops are designed for first-time makers and creative explorers. No prior experience is needed — we’ll guide you step by step to make your own jewelry or small metal object.

Do you offer short workshops for tourists or weekend visitors?

Yes. Our Discovery Sessions are perfect for tourists, weekenders, and spontaneous creatives. In just a few hours, you can craft a handmade piece, meet local artists, and enjoy a meaningful, hands-on experience in Bandung.

Is the workshop held in English or Indonesian?

We can guide you in both English and Indonesian. Our team is happy to assist international visitors or tourists with clear, friendly instruction.

Do I need to bring anything?

Just bring yourself! We provide all materials, tools, and safety gear. For comfort, wear closed-toe shoes and clothing you don't mind getting a little creative in.

Do we get to take home what we make?

Yes! Your creation is yours to keep — a meaningful handmade souvenir from your visit to Bandung.

Can I book a private session just for my group?

Yes. We offer private workshop packages for couples, families, or small groups. Contact us directly to choose your date and project theme.

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes. Please contact us to confirm availability and secure your preferred date before booking. Walk-ins are not accepted due to limited capacity.

Is this more of a demonstration or will I really make something myself?

This is a hands-on workshop. You’ll be doing the making, sawing, shaping, texturing, and finishing your own metal piece. Don’t worry, we’ll help you along the way.

Will I be working with dangerous tools or fire? Is it safe?

We use real tools, including torches for soldering, but everything is done in a controlled, supervised environment. Safety instructions are always given first. You’re in good hands!

If I don’t finish my piece, can I come back and continue another day?

Our beginner workshops are designed to be completed in one session. If you'd like to return and explore more advanced work, we recommend joining a project-based or open studio session.

Can I choose exactly what I want to make?

Beginner sessions are structured with pre-set projects like rings, tags, or pendants. For custom creations, you may request a private class or book a multi-session workshop.

Can I take photos or videos during the session?

Yes, of course! You’re welcome to take photos for personal use, and we’d love it if you tag us on Instagram @lievik.atelier. Just be mindful not to disrupt others or touch equipment unnecessarily.
